Spring Fashion from Down Under and North America: While the US East Coast has a late snow storm, we ask if spring will come. As we reported last month, Groundhog Day came out with a split. The “Good Groundhog” said spring would come soon. The “Bad Groundhog” said hang on to your snow boots. We do see an end in sight of winter’s chill and are pleased to have this update of great fashion for spring.

Colorful Ballet Flats:
Here in Washington, DC I found Oka-B’s ballet flats.
What attracted me to buy my first pair?
- I liked the bright color and contrasting “buckle” or other stylish decoration.
- I found the seamless sole perfect for walking my dogs on damp streets.
- The soft structure was really comfortable for daily wear.
- They serve many uses from dress-up to my work outs in the gym. (Please note the sole does not have the tread of a sneaker so do this at your own risk.)
- They are ideal for travel as well and fit easily into a carry-on bag.
- I often am stopped by passersby that ask “Where did you get those shoes?”
- Fast forward to today: I have had 8 pairs of Oka-B ballet flats and with seasons’ changes look excitedly to see what new styles they have.

From London-Great Looks:
London has led the way in fashion since the Sixties. From minis to midis, there was a new look a day. Carnaby Street was the heart of this style revolution. Even the staid Victoria Albert Museum has featured this fashion movement in a lively exhibit.
London can be pricey. If nothing else, the rate of exchange is not so great for us in the US and Canada. I did find a chic two piece winter outfit to work out or hit the ski slopes. I found a new source with quite a name: Sweaty Betty! See their outfit below.

Change of Seasons:
Out of 68 countries I have been to, Australia was one of my top solo trips. Why was that? It differed enough from the US to be interesting but was close enough to be easy. For fashionistas, there is a great boon! As we north of the Equator have the cold chills give way to spring’s warmth, the opposite occurs in the south.
I saw the benefit for shoppers on past trips to South Africa where end of season sales occurred as our season started. The styles were different than those at home with two tones that were very chic. Best deal: While my business took me there as seasons changed, I bought 3-4 new outfits each trip. I wear them proudly still years later.
So think how smart you will feel to get top style as seasons change! The good news is that via the Internet you can shop at home and save the airfare.
I just found from Sydney a fashion blog to learn about local style, Missy Confidential. See the link below.
