Solo Travel Wellness- Ideas for a Better And Healthier You, a Guest Post by Jane Roberts: The year 2020 is just a few weeks away, and people are already starting to make plans to improve themselves for the New Year. But while most of us start the year with lots of optimism, not everyone gets to be successful in achieving their personal goals.

Research has revealed that 60 percent of people make New Year’s resolutions, but only 8 percent actually achieve them. Moreover, as the top resolutions include losing weight, eating healthier, and having more time to exercise, it appears that health is the top priority of individuals who want to make a change in their lives.

If your goal is to be a healthier person for the New Year, why not travel for self improvement? Getting out of your comfort zone and participating in activities that can help you meet your goals enables you to take active steps to make your dreams and aspirations come true. It’s a memorable way to start the year right, so for a better, healthier you, learn more about fitness retreats and check out these solo travel ideas that will benefit your well-being.

Why go on a fitness retreat?

Going on a fitness retreat is a great way to start the year with a positive state of mind, as it enables you to relax and heal while you’re traveling. However, it’s also an ideal way to have a stronger and fitter body, as some activities do require you to get on your feet and work up a sweat. For instance, certain resorts have HIIT beach workouts that enable you to build strong muscles while shedding the pounds.

Focusing on building strong muscles through exercise, diet and selective androgen receptor modulators will benefit you throughout your fitness journey, as it reduces the risk of injury and improves endurance at the same time. When choosing a destination for your fitness retreat, make sure to look into the activities being offered, and pick the one that has the most activities that you can participate in. Here are some destinations to consider to start your fitness journey.

Retreats to Consider:

Wanderfit in Tamarindo, Costa Rica

The Wanderfit fitness retreat in Tamarindo, Costa Rica lets you spend 7 days on the beaches of this amazing country. It’s got everything from nature hikes, guided beach workouts, yoga sessions, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and even a zip lining tour through the rainforest— whatever your fitness goal is, there’s something for anyone who’s looking to get in shape. For 2020, the retreat will take place from March 23-29 and March 29 to April 4. Keep in mind that  you have to be at least 21 years old before signing up for this retreat.

Red Mountain Resort, Utah

This resort in Utah has everything you need for a relaxing retreat. The stunning landscape of this destination makes for a great escape, and their retreats are designed to promote physical and emotional wellness. One of their most popular retreats is the Weight Loss and Living Mindfully retreat, which takes place for 7 days. During your stay, you’ll be provided with healthy meals and participate in daily guided hiking and fitness classes. What’s more, you’ll learn all about what types of food and exercise will benefit your body so you can apply the knowledge that you gained in your everyday life.

Kamalaya in Koh Samui Island, Thailand

If you prefer to head East for your retreat, consider Kamalaya in Koh Samui Island, Thailand. Not only do you wake up to stunning beach views during your stay, but you also get to be in a place that promotes spiritual healing. They have different types of retreats at this destination, but if it’s your first time on a retreat, you may want to try the Basic Optimal Fitness program, as it has a good combination of activities that promote fitness and relaxation. You can stay for 5, 7 or 10 days, and throughout your stay you can participate in yoga classes, get relaxing massages and facials, and have personal training sessions.

Traveling to achieve your fitness goals is one of the most effective ways to start the New Year on the right track. Try going on a fitness retreat at any of these destinations for a happier, healthier you.
