Don’t get left behind when you make a mistake updating your passport.

Remember:

If you hold a US Passport, although it is technically valid for a decade, you may only be able to use it for 9.5 years! I have known of such a case where one day’s lapse prevented a US passport holder from boarding a European flight.

Why is that?

Some destinations require inbound foreign travelers to have 6 months remaining on their passport.

Here in the US in late summer, even using regular mail, my passport was quickly updated with no problems.

However, in past years back in June 2015, the US State Department acknowledged that because of technical issues that overseas passports and visas were experiencing delays.

With the time for summer holiday trips now upon us, dust off your passport right away to avoid any delay.
