If you are someone who likes to travel on a regular basis, then you know the joys that this can bring. There is always something special that comes with exploring a new place, learning a new culture, or experiencing the great outdoors. At the same time, traveling can be expensive. The good news is that there are ways to save money while traveling with a few great accessories. This list will detail some of the top items that travelers should have if they want to save money while traveling.

A Solar Battery

Anyone who likes to travel in an RV should think about investing in a solar panel battery. This is a battery that will draw its energy from the sun. Then, the panels will convert the sun’s UV rays into electricity that can power the RV. There are also smaller batteries that other travelers might be able to take with them on other trips. The goal is to use power from the sun to save money on electricity. The energy that is drawn from the sun’s rays can be used to power a number of connected devices. Not only does this save money but it can also extend the life of the RV’s utility systems while reducing your carbon footprint. For other options, learn more here.

Google Fi

One of the most popular accessories for traveling is called Google Fi. While this is something that you can use at home, you can also swap out the SIM card in your phone for a Google FI card when you are on the go. Particularly if you like to travel internationally, this is a great way for you to avoid those roaming charges that can quickly devastate your bank account. Furthermore, as soon as you land, you will have coverage. This provides an added convenience over upgrading to a local SIM card later. The data plan from Google FI actually works in around 200 countries. The best part is that there aren’t any added charges, even though you will need to make sure you read the fine print when it comes to voice charges. Most data plans start at around $10 per GB; however, once you buy six, the plan is basically unlimited!

A Reusable Water Bottle

While this might not be the flashiest item in the world, this is a critical item for travelers. While the benefits are obvious for those who like to vacation outdoors, it is also important for those who travel to other countries. Often, people from the United States are shocked when they go to another country and realize that water isn’t free in restaurants. There are lots of great water bottles that you can use to avoid buying lots of plastic bottles. Some water bottles even collapse, making them easy to fit into a purse, backpack, or coat pocket. Try to find one that is free from BPAs and is dishwasher safe. A simple water bottle can also help you save the planet.

A Waterproof Phone Case

It is critical for you to think carefully about the phone case you are going to use. While it is always a problem to have a broken phone, this is an even bigger issue if you are traveling. Think about what would happen if you lost your phone on a trip. You wouldn’t know how to get around. You might not be able to ask for help. You could even lose access to your money. It is important for you to invest in a waterproof phone case for your next trip.

Find the Right Accessories for the Next Trip

These are just a few of the top accessories that all travelers should know about if they are looking for ways to save money. If you are planning a trip soon, think carefully about what items you want to take. There could be opportunities for you to cut down on the costs associated with traveling.
