DAY 1 ZAGREB (D): Arrive in Zagreb and transfer to hotel. Enjoy a welcome drink and get to know your group. Enjoy dinner at the hotel.
DAY 2 ZAGREB – OPATIJA (B,D) After breakfast at the hotel, explore Zagreb with your tour guide. We will visit the medieval Upper Town, including St. Mark’s church, Parliament, Government Palace, and many fine old buildings.
Following Zagreb, we will travel to Opatija. Opatija is situated on the picturesque Kvarner Bay. Enjoy dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Opatija.
DAY 3 ISTRIA EXCURSION (B,T): Following breakfast, we will get to know the Istrian Peninsula. We will visit the 2000 year old Colosseum in Pula. We will then travel to Rovinj. Known as one of the most beautiful towns in Istria. Rovinj provides inspiration to many artists. We will then sample Istrian truffles in Livade. Overnight in Opatija.
DAY 4 OPATIJA – PLITVICE LAKES (B,D): After breakfast, we will travel to Plitvice Lakes, where we will spend 3 hours. It is the most beautiful and oldest national park in Croatia under UNESCO protection. It consists of 16 lakes connected by magnificent waterfalls. Travel throughout the park by foot. Enjoy a short boat ride across the Emerald Green Lake and train ride back to main entrance. Dinner onight will be at the hotel. Overnight in Plitvice.
DAY 5 PLITVICE LAKES – ZADAR – SPLIT (B,T) After breakfast, we drive over the Lika Mountains towards the city of Zadar. Zadar is rich in cultural and historical monuments. Visit the Roman forum dated to the 1st century AD and the church of St. Donatus dated to the 9th century AD. Be sure to visit the famous Sea Organs. From Zadar, we will travel to the Bibich Winery for a gourmet experience. We will enjoy a wine tasting here along with Croatian style tapas. We will then head to Split and overnight here.
DAY 6 SPLIT & TROGIR (B,L): We will enjoy breakfast in Split and afterwards enjoy a tour around the Old town. The city makes up 17 centuries of building and remodeling – a gem in terms of architecture. Within the heart of Split, we will visit the Palace dated back to the turn of the 4th century.
We will then visit the nearby city of Trogir. Indulge in a traditional Dalmatian lunch. Trogir is another UNESCO World Heritage site, dating back 2,300 years. It is rich in culture and created under many influences. Visit the Fortress on the nearby island during your stay.
DAY 7 SPLIT – STON – DUBROVNIK (B,T): After breakfast, we will travel towards the world famous Dubrovnik. En route, we will stop near the town of Ston. We will visit a local winery and taste the famous “Plavac Mali” wine, a close relative to the Zinfandel. We will learn about the win making traditions passed on from generation to generation. Enjoy a presentation on the wine making process and a small snack paired to the wines. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
DAY 8 DUBROVNIK (B,D): We will begin our day in Dubrovnik. Dated back to the 13th century, the city remains unchanged. Enjoy a walking tour of the old town. After the walking tour, enjoy your free time exploring the city or walking the historical city walls. Overnight in Dubrovnik
DAY 9 DUBROVNIK (B) After Breakfast, this concludes our tour. Individual transfers to the airport are included in tour price, or add an additional excursion or cruise if you would like to extend your stay.
