5 Tips New US Flight Restrictions:
Just when you were set to pack light and carry-on, there are new flight US flight rules to look at. As always, there is the good news and the bad news. Here are our five tips to walk you through it on the broad strokes:

Tip One:
The good news first: Laptops have not been consigned to the nether world of the cargo hold…yet! The March ban had included a ban on devices larger than a smartphone in the cabin for travelers from some countries.
Tip Two:
Watch out for longer lines. Airlines are to increase their own screening. It is unclear if these new procedures will be uniform or not. This could leave passengers with different requirements based on their carrier.
Tip Three:
The bad news: Flights from outside the US that are not deemed in compliance may have a stricter ban imposed. That could include more restrictions on electronic devices.
Tip Four: Book your next flights now before prices go up as airlines pass on their increased costs to consumers.
Tip Five:
There are now a few countries like Canada where US Customs and Immigration clearance occur prior to departure for the US. I see this as a net gain. Why? If you are abroad and have a tight US connecting flight, long Customs.
