8 Days | Paris and the Beaches of Normandy

Day 2 | Paris, France. Board your ship to begin your cruise.
Day 3 | Vernon. Visit Giverny made famous by the Impressionist Claude Monet.
Day 4 | Vernon. Rouen. This is the capital of Normandy. In addition to its fame in the 20th-century it is also where Joan of Arc became a martyr. Monet made multiple paintings of the Rouen Cathedral during different times of day.
Day 5 | Rouen. Beaches of Normandy. An in-depth history of the battle on D-Day on June 6th 1944. You will continue on to the Normandy Beach landings. You can choose alternatively to tour the Pays d’Auge and Caen, home of William the Conqueror. He is buried there in the Cathedral.
Day 6 | Rouen. Honfleur. Again two choices: First is Honfleur, a favorite subject of painters Courbet, Boudin and Monet. You will also see the largest wooden church in France, Sainte-Catherine church. A second option is a tour of Normandy’s famous abbeys.
Day 7 | Les Andelys. This is a two-part cruise: Grand-Andely and Petit-Andely. This includes the classical artist Nicolas Poussin’s birthplace. You will see the fortress of 12th-century Richard the Lionheart. It was prominently captured repeated by different sides in the Hundred Years War.
Day 8 | Conflans. Another day with two choices. First is the home of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and his Empress Josephine at the Chateau Malmaison. Josephine lived their following their divorce.
Day 9 | Paris. Disembark/end your cruise in Paris. (B)
